چکیده

Temperature and molecular weight dependence of k o in D(C)=D(O)[1 +CkD], where D(C) is the diffusion coefficient for the density fluctuations in a dilute polymer solution, is investigated by first expressing D(C) as a function of the static structure factor S(q,C) within the framework of the Kirkwood-Riseman theory. The continuous transition of k D from negative values under theta conditions to positive values in good solvents is calculated using various models for the intermolecular interaction potential and the results are presented graphically as function of a reduced variable S/RHthat combines both molecular weight and temperature effects. It is shown that the negative value of k D at the theta temperature can be explained at least partially, in terms of an increase in the chain dimensions of two overlapping molecules. The concentration dependence of the self-diffusion coefficient is also discussed.

Acetic acid Separation as a Function of Temperature Using Commercial Pervaporation Membrane

Acetic acid was separated from a dilute mixture using a commercial polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) membrane.  Intrinsic separation characteristics of the membrane were studied as a function of temperature.  The degree of membrane swelling decreased marginally with increase in feed temperature. At 25oC the maximum degree of swelling was found out to be 46.3%, which reduced to 39.5%...

Estimation of Binary Infinite Dilute Diffusion Coefficient Using Artificial Neural Network

In this study, the use of the three-layer feed forward neural network has been investigated for estimating of infinite dilute diffusion coefficient ( D12 ) of supercritical fluid (SCF), liquid and gas binary systems. Infinite dilute diffusion coefficient was spotted as a function of critical temperature, critical pressure, critical volume, normal boiling point, molecular volume in normal boilin...

Dielectric analysis of poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) aqueous solution coupled with scaling approach.

Dielectric measurements were carried out on aqueous solution of poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDADMAC) with different concentrations at room temperature. Additionally, for selected solutions the temperature dependence of dielectric relaxation spectroscopy (DRS) was examined in the range of 5-70 degrees C. The dielectric relaxation in the order of around MHz was observed, and the diele...

Diffusion of a chain : concentration effects

2014 It is shown that the cross-over concentration between dilute and semi-dilute solutions is the same for dynamical properties as for static properties of flexible polymers in a good solvent. For semi-dilute solutions, the exponent 03B2 in the concentration dependence of the diffusion coefficient of a blob Dc ~ C03B2 is expected to depend on both temperature and concentration. The variation o...

Slow Modes in Semi-dilute Solutions of Polynucleotides

2014 Our experimental studies of quasi-elastic light scattering by semi-dilute solutions of polyadenilic acid show the simultaneous existence of rapid modes similar to those observed with flexible chains, and of slow modes the existence of which is due to polynucleotide chain dynamics. The concentration dependence of diffusion coefficients gives some indications about the origin of these modes....
